Itchy 2023
Itchy was a comic I was inspired to make when reminiscing about how as I child there were many types of clothes I refused to wear due to how they felt on my skin, seams in weird places, clothes that were too tight and itchy tulle, too name a few. I wanted to take my characters and see how they might tackle the situation when presented with a party that would usually have outfits with these sensations.
The Evil Pie King 2022
The Evil Pie King was written and drawn by me for my senior portfolio. This project is what helped me find what I wanted my stories to focus on. I hadn’t gone into my senior year with a very good idea of what I wanted to write and it definitely shows. However, while writing about Willow and her Mother’s interactions I realized I enjoyed writing the spur-of-the-moment dialogues and drawing those actions that come with a child’s personality.
Geek Love 2020
In my junior year at SVA we were given the theme Man Made Monsters for our thesis project. I chose to adapt the book Geek Love by Katherine Dunn for my comic. Although many characters supported the Man Made Monster theme, I chose to depict Arturo’s fall into madness as he strived to be the most successful child in the traveling carnival
